Man you guys, I have been sick with the flu for two full weeks now. This is the worst I’ve ever had it in my adult life! 😩I haven’t had a properly working voice box in 7 days. 🤦🏾♀️
The enemy would love to see the retardation of my life right about now, but I’ve been doing what I can with what I’ve got in the background! Which includes working on my website, practicing new techniques and taking care of not only myself but two sick little girls as well!
Also (sadly) two weeks ago, I painted 3 paintings that I ended up absolutely hating!!! And what made it worse was, the more I looked at them, the more I realized how awful they were! 🤦🏾♀️ Have any of my fellow artists’ gone through this!? It sucks for real, for real! But you have to seek opportunity during disappointing moments. And from THAT moment, I realized what I really needed was to go on a break from painting. I stopped painting for about 5 days, the longest I’ve gone in almost two years. I can vouche that this was unexpectedly the best thing to do! Keeping myself focused on family matters, praying, reading and resting was vital for me to rebalance myself... the thing is, when you’re serious about your craft, whatever it is, you can get hyper-focused and not realize you’re drowning in it... too much of a good thing is NOT good. Balance is key for me at this point in my art journey...I still haven’t mastered it all the way, but I’m getting there!
During my break from painting, I actually studied painting again, and got back to what really grabs my eye and opened my mind to new techniques...also, when you go on a “paint break,” dare to push the “safety” button to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things, even if it means getting a little messy!
So with that being said, I will roll out my new collection to top off the month of February! Keep your eyes open!
and please pray for good health in the name of Jesus! Amen ~love and light AceTheeArtist
